A Guide to Renewing Your Driver’s License

A Guide to Renewing Your Driver’s License

What do you do when your license is about to expire?

What do you do when your license is about to expire? You can’t let it happen. Renewing your license doesn’t have to be an ordeal, either. Here is a guide to restoring it as quickly as possible. What more do you need to know? It’s time to find out more.

Through the Mail

One way to do it is by the mail service. You will need to provide your documents and all supporting materials. A check or money order also has to be included, no credit cards or cash. Please make sure you send it to a valid address registered to a DMV office. Finally, be sure to stay patient. Waiting is part of the process, even if you don’t go to the DMV in person. By attaching the right paperwork, you can reduce the chance of delays that could cause even more problems.

Through the DMV

We understand that everyone is busy and can’t make it to the DMV. Spending an afternoon waiting for your number to be called can be a drain on your patience, especially when you have other pressing matters to attend to that day. You can rely on the expert team at USVRS who can take your car and help get your registration documents renewed. You will need to go in yourself to renew your license. That’s because you need to pass a vision test, get a new photo, and pay off your service fee. Updating your information is always essential, especially if you have moved recently.

What You Need

Before going to the DMV, there is some information that you need to know. You have to be able to prove your identity. You do this through having a copy of your passport or your birth certificate. Either way, it needs to contain your name and date of birth. You also need to be able to prove that you are a citizen, either born in the States or naturalized. A green card is also acceptable. Don’t forget to bring your social security number or SSN. You’ll also need a W-2 form or a paystub. Credit card statements and utility bills are also proof of residence in the District.
